Meet the Dip Queen, Alyse Whitney!

Third person doesn’t feel right, so hello! I’m Alyse Whitney, author of cookbook Big Dip Energy. I’m known as the Dip Queen and now will be Dippin’ In with recipes, food for thought, and maximalist musings. I’m a Korean American adoptee who was raised in upstate New York, lived in NYC for almost a decade, and now reside in Los Angeles with my two rescue pups, Miso and Ritz.

I’ve been a journalist for almost 15 years, ranging from red-carpet-roving entertainment reporter and culture features writer to recipe developer and food editor. I was Cosmopolitan’s first-ever food columnist with “Doing the Least With Alyse,” sharing easy-yet-impressive recipes, entertaining tips, and the stories behind the dish like Carrie Bradshaw if she collected vintage ceramic fruit instead of shoes.

You can watch me as a host and judge on food TV shows such as Netflix’s Easy-Bake Battle, Pressure Cooker, and The Big Nailed It! Baking Challenge, and Food Network’s Chopped.

But most of all, I’m here to have fun (and puns) and share the bites that bring me delight. Thanks for dippin’ in!
